Over
the bridge and through the forest" - Hidden away in
beautiful Boca Raton is one of the area's best kept
secrets. Tucked away in a lush green mangrove forest is
our "private" Kayak Outpost - Mangrove Creek - where your
adventure begins. After a brief "how to paddle"
orientation, we will be joined by our our naturalist who
will help you learn about our diverse combination of flora
and fauna in this dense jungle-like "hammock". We will
paddle through the serene shaded canopy of mangrove
trails. Watch for osprey, pelicans, roseate spoonbills and
other birds who call this place home.
As
you paddle along this serene environment, weaving your way
through the shaded canopy of mangrove trails you might
catch a glimpse of exotic birds, squirrels, raccoons and
other creatures that call this their rare, tropical forest
home. We’ll then exit the hammock into the calm waters of
Lake Wyman, a once fresh water lake, now part of the
Intracoastal Waterway. Traveling along the outer edge of
the hammock, our local naturalist will assist in spotting
large seabirds like osprey, brown pelicans, turkey
vultures, as well as wading birds such as roseate
spoonbills, great blue herons, white ibis, and
kingfishers. We’ll then experience a different entrance to
the mangrove trails as we make our way back to the kayak
outpost.

kayaking or the natural beauty of the birds and other
critters or plants you see on the way.
