HISTORIC
BOCA RATON BICYCLE TOUR
What
image does the name Boca Raton bring to mind? Let Visit Palm Beach
answer this question and many others.
Boca Raton, a city rich in history, is a place where old meets new.
Today’s modern architects and designers use the technology of the new
millennium, while some of the city is given over to the captivating
1920's architecture of Addison Mizner. This architectural mix gives
this city an eclectic flavor.
Visit Palm Beach’s historic bicycle tour begins with guests outfitted
with bicycles and helmets, instruction on what you’ll see, and then
the exploration begins.
Our courteous and knowledgeable guides will lead riders past
breathtaking homes, through historic districts and past beautiful Boca
Raton vistas. During this five-mile journey, guests will learn
interesting facts and entertaining stories that showcase the city’s
rich history and breathtaking architecture.
The journey will lead us to the old Town Hall building, now home to
the Historical Society of Boca Raton. Guests can watch a short,
informative film about the city and its rich history. Featured in the
film are old photographs, as well as movie footage and interviews that
describe the city in its early days of development. After the film,
guests are welcome to tour the building and visit the Fire Station
Gift Shop.
Before our journey ends, we’ll travel to the historic Florida East
Coast Railroad Station. Here you will be able to explore vintage train
cars that are on display, while listening to stories about railroad
magnet Henry M. Flagler.
